Information and support available

In Years 9 and 11 your child will be asked to make decisions about which courses to study and there is more choice now than ever before. As a parent or carer your influence and support will play an important part in their decision-making.

To help your child with their choices you may want to get them to think about:

• the options available
• qualifications
• how to choose
• how to apply
• open days and events, and
• funding.

If your child has special educational needs you may want to know about:

• extra support available, and
• transition planning.

If your child has started a course already you be concerned if their post16 course is not working out.
